Lucy's Place

This cozy waterfront retreat is located at Santa Martha, on the southwestern side of the island. It is located right at the main gate of Sunset Waters Beach Resort, just before you drive down to this all inclusive hotel which is nestled on a magnificent stretch of pristine white sand beach. It offers easy access to Curacao's premier diving sites, including the one and only Mushroom Forest and spectacular snorkeling and scuba in the lagoon.

The drive from the airport to Lucy's Place is approximately 25 minutes. The nearest supermarket to Lucy's Place is approximately 20 minutes drive away. Otrabanda and Punda (Curacao's historic town center) are located approximately 35 minutes away. Within 15 minutes drive is Christofell Park, a protected wildlife preserve and garden covering 4,500 acres of land. It features great hiking, mountain biking, car tours and nature walks.

This location can be best described as serene and secluded. It's best suited for people who enjoy a quiet and laid back atmosphere. It's ideal for example for couples seeking a romantic retreat, people who need a quite place for inspiration and privacy (such as writers), and divers who want to be close to Curacao's best diving spots, accessible by boat or from shore.

THE HOUSE
The fenced garden (approximately 15000 sq ft.) is rocky with indigenous fauna, cacti and beautiful bougainvilleas. Lucy's Place can sleep up to 4 people. It has 2 bedrooms, 2 en-suite bathrooms, an open living/dining and kitchen, a large covered side terrace with BBQ facility, an overhanging back terrace with a most spectacular panoramic view, and a private side terrace right next to the second bedroom, where full privacy is guaranteed! The total area of the house is 968 square ft.

- Central AC throughout the house
- Direct line telephone (pre-paid system)

- Laundry room with washer and dryer
- Lucy's Place has free internet for guests. So please feel free to bring your laptop.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
There is a flight of stairs close to Lucy's Place that leads down to the premise of the hotel. The walk to the hotel and beach is approximately 5 minutes. (Guests staying at Lucy's Place are welcome to use the facilities of the hotel, including swimming pool, beach (with beach chairs and shade), tennis court, miniature golf, etc. There's also an excellent dive facility on site.

For those guests who do not like to cook during vacation, we highly recommend the meal plan offered by Sunset Waters Beach Resort for approximately US$50 per person per day. Another alternative is to open an account at the hotel for all meals and drinks consumed during your stay.

CLEANING
Lucy's Place is cleaned once a week. Bed linen, bath towels and beach towels are provided. HOUSEHOLD ITEMS Toilet paper, soaps and garbage bags will be placed in the house prior to your arrival. Other articles such as detergent, washing powder, paper towels, matchboxes, herbs, cooking oil, insecticide, etc. are not standard. These are for the account of guests.

ARRIVAL
To the guests who will rent a car (highly advised at this location), driving instruction will be provided on how get to the house from the airport. Guests who do not need a car can request taxi transfer service. Cost of transfer from the airport to this location is US$40 for trips before 10:00 p.m. Between 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. a 25% surcharge will be added.

Upon arrival at the house you will be met by the caretaker of the house who will check you in and hand over keys. She will be your contact person during your stay at Lucy's Place.

RENTAL RATES (2008)
1to 4 guests:
US$ 212 per night - US$ 1484 p/ week ( Feb 1 - Dec. 15, 2008)
US$ 240 per night - US$ 1680 p/week (Dec. 15 - Apr. 15, 2009)

Prices are:
(1) Per night in US Dollar.
(2) Including water, electricity (200 Kwh per week), 1x per week cleaning and linens.
(3) Electrical meter reading will be taken at check-in and check-out. Over usage of electricity will be charged at check-out and is due in cash.
(4) Rental rates are subject to 5% tax.
(5) Minimum stay is 5 nights.
